Educational Seat-Back Visual Panels

The greatest safety issue school bus drivers face is distraction caused by student behavior.

School boards are entrusted with oversight of student safety, risk management, and responsible use of district resources. Transportation safety is a critical part of that responsibility. On school buses, drivers must safely operate large vehicles while simultaneously managing student behavior in a confined, moving environment. When distractions increase, safety risk increases. SeatSmart Learning proposes a pilot-based, non-permanent solution designed to support calmer bus environments through passive, age-appropriate engagement. The program requires no technology, no curriculum changes, and no added responsibilities for drivers or staff. All materials are fully removable, allowing the district to evaluate effectiveness without long-term commitment.

Program Description

The panels are positioned within the natural seated line of sight of students and are designed to encourage calm engagement without requiring instruction or supervision. Content areas may include Science, Animals, Space, Geography, and U.S. states. General knowledge all content is designed to be appropriate for mixed-grade routes.
